ADVANCED LEVEL This level is for those who would like to be able to express the most complex ideas and understand equally complex language on a variety of themes, as well understanding the main thread of a written or oral text at a high level. At advanced level there is an enormous amount of vocabulary to learn, and no course can hope to cover it all. However, our course focuses on areas of vocabulary that are useful in a wide range of situations e.g. agreeing and disagreeing, frequency, problems and solutions, starting and ending etc. Collocation (words that usually go together) is a particular focus, and involves consideration of certain grammatical structures. You will also be introduced to specialist language associated with business and law, as well as academic and literary language usage. During this course you will read both texts, which are straightforward in language and style though still lively, and texts that demand a more sophisticated knowledge of Russian. Advanced level is an intensive and quite deep language immersion, in which you will learn to appreciate the beauty and variety of the Russian language.
