Dear Russian Village Staff,
My week in the Russian Village has definitely improved my understanding and conversational level of the Russian language. I have taken Russian classes for about one year before. However, I never got very fare, because in my daily schedule there are always 10 other important priorities that I have to take care of. So, consequently, my Russian did not improve very much. I am an expat-wife, mother and self-employed consultant. The "USP" of booking the Russian Village, to my opinion, is definitely the luxury of concentrating only on leaning Russian for a limited period of time and under perfect circumstances with ideal infrastructure. The very lively one-to-one lessons with a highly motivated and always encouraging teacher (Diana) has greatly helped my to understand the overall system of the Russian language and to make some major steps forward. This very concise and focused learning method definitely helps a lot to improve.
Besides, the staff at the Russian Village is very caring and the well known Russian hospitality is a show-case in the Russian Village. Last but not least, the two "chefs" in the kitchen make your stay also a very special culinary experience!

I have been here in the Russian Village just 2 days, yet I feel that I
have gained so much confidence in speaking Russian. The full immersion
technique really works and I have learnt such a lot. My teacher was trully
excellent, providing a range of different situations to talk about and roles
to play, correcting mistakes gently yet clearly.
The family atmosphere is delightful, the staff are all very friendly, the
accomodation most comfortable and the food nothing less than excellent.
I fully understand why so many language-learners return - this is the
place to improve your Russian, and learn about and experience the Russian
way of life and traditions.

I want to thank you all for making my stay with you enjoyable and extremely
beneficial. Within three short weeks I gained enough confidence to
communicate in Russian with my friends. I can follow Russian Langauge
Television and I feel comfortable speaking the language. This could have
only happened because of your wonderful program and system of teaching the
language.
What was equally important for me at your school is your special attention
to introducing Russian Culture to your students. I was also impressed with
your attention to the special needs of each student and his/her specific
requirements for using the language. As a composer/conductor I found my
teacher Olga introducing those special phrases and words which are required
in my profession as a musician. Your attention to such details is unusual
and worthwhile. I comend you and will always recommend your school to any
foreigners wishing to learn the language in a comfortable and productive
atmosphere.

I just wanted to assure that the weekend exceeded by exceptions by a

then an intensive period in summer.

I had a terrific time. Your staff is wonderful,
friendly, and helpful. I especially appreciated the
way they made an effort to keep us talking in Russian,
and were so helpful with corrections but without
making us feel as though we were tiresome to listen
to!
Both instructors that I had (Olga & Olga) were
excellent. I have worked with tutors in the past, but
both Olgas were much, much better than my previous
tutors. They were enthusiastic, positive, energetic,
and (most important for intensive language learning)
they insisted on maintaining a steady pace throughout
the day.

I have been taught verbs of motion twice before and never understood them
and Olga showed me a system that meant I finally understood how to use them.
I understand all the grammar better now because of Olga's methodical
teaching system.
I liked the fact that I learnt a lot of pronunciation and I now feel that I
have a better grasp of everything.

Thank you most sincerely for the wonderful experience enjoyed by both Nancy
Wallace and myself during our recent stay of exactly four weeks at the
Russian Village. The warmth of the Russian hospitality, the services
supplied and the methods of teaching the Russian language exceeded all
expectations - so much so that we will do all that is necessary to promote
the facility that is wonderfully located in the suburbs of Moscow.
The accommodation, the excellent cuisine, the recreational facilities and
the leisure activities at the Russian Village are all to be complemented.
We would like to extend a very special and warm thank you to our teacher
Diana who worked tirelessly with us every day in order to develop our level
of language proficiency, taking into account that both of us were starting
at elementary level. She is truly talented and worked with a tremendous
sense of belief in building our self- confidence in speaking the language.

the Russian Village at various intervals throughout the year to improve our
current level of proficiency.

I am very pleased to recommend the Russian Village to anyone. I spent a
weekend there, studying Russian seven hours on Saturday and six hours on
Sunday. The reaction of some friends was to wonder if I was crazy. However
for me, this was a very enjoyable two days. The teacher was very responsive
to my goals for language study and the program was exactly what I needed. I
was impressed that she was able to assemble a customized program for me on
such short notice. The instruction was so enjoyable that the time just flew
by and I hardly noticed how much time we were spending. Because there were
no other distractions, I got much more out of these hours of instruction
than I do out of shorter classes during my work week at home.
The atmosphere of the Russian Village was so welcoming and friendly that
it made me very relaxed. Your staff was great. They were naturally
friendly and I did not have the feeling that this was put on for our
benefit. As a result there was a very home-like atmosphere. The room was
very comfortable and the food was outstanding. I also enjoyed the Saturday
night entertainment program with the illusionist.
All in all, I felt that the weekend at the Russian Village was a great
value and I look forward to coming back there again in the future. It was a
restful and productive weekend that I would not hesitate to recommend to
anyone.

Russian village was frankly marvellous. The site is beautiful, the staff
enthusiastic, friendly and profoundly Russian -- you feel as if you were set
down in the midst of a Checkhov play!
I have lived in Russia for several years, but my Russian was still "one
noun-case fits all". Although I had only a few free days over the holidays,
I came away feeling vastly more confident in Russian; I definitely intend to
return for a second helping. Frankly, if you can teach Russian to me, you
could probably also teach it to your Labrador Retriever!
